United States Power Squadrons (USPS)®   is the largest, most respected non-profit, educational/fraternal boating organization in the world, covering all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Japan. Our goal is the promotion of the highest standards of navigation and seamanship. Our members are families who enjoy the camaraderie of social boating activities and who contribute to their communities by promoting safe boating on the water and in the classroom.

The Waterbury Power Squadron was chartered in 1963 to provide service to the towns along the Naugatuck and upper Housatonic rivers and adjacent communities.

The Squadron has approximately 80 members who have an interest in boating and boating education. Numerous members enjoy their sailboats and powerboats in the waters from Long Island Sound to the lakes and ponds of Connecticut.
