All animals shown by Junior Exhibitors must be owned or leased by exhibitors. Registration and lease papers are required.
HEALTH RULES FOR CATTLE
1. All animals over 3 months must have rabies vaccination certificate.
2. Exhibitors must have valid health certificates in order to show their livestock at Connecticut Fairs and Shows.
3. All entries must originate in a Tuberculosis-Negative herd, and from Brucellosis-Negative herds under state supervision.
4. Should animals originate from out-of-state, they must be from Brucellosis-Negative herds blood tested within 12 months. Official vaccinates over 18 months of age and non-vaccinates over 8 months old must be negative to the blood test within 30 days prior to shipment, and must be Tuberculosis-Negative, tested within 12 months of the Fair.
5. All animals should be in show condition for competition.
6. ANIMALS MUST BE ON GROUNDS BY 6:00 P.M. ON FRI., AUGUST 15, 2008.
7. All livestock must remain on the grounds until 6:00 p.m. Sun., August 17, 2008.
8. Bedding—sawdust only, will be supplied by the Fair.
9. Where there is no competition, the judge will award ribbon and prize money as he/she sees fit.
10. Herdsmanship contest sponsored by the Fair. The junior exhibitor doing the best job of taking care of their exhibit space will be awarded a trophy.
11. The Beef Committee reserves the right to reject any entry in question, and to remove any animal from the grounds for health reasons.
12. $2.00 ENTRY FEE PER ANIMAL.
13. ANY EXHIBITOR CONSUMING OR DISPENSING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE BARN OR ON THE FAIRGROUNDS WILL FORFEIT THEIR PREMIUM MONEY.
14. SHOWMANSHIP: Saturday, August 16, 2008 promptly at 9:00 a.m.MANDATORY
15. All entries including showmanship and toddler showman must be received by Aug.8, 2008.
16. All entry blanks must be filled out completely with Name, Address. Phone & Date of Birth.
17. All entries received will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until the barn is full.
18. Each animal may only be shown in only one Breed Class.
19. No professional fitters.
20. All Classes limited to (2) animals per exhibitor per class. The order of the Beef Show: Showmanship Classes and Heifer Beef Show.
