2007 Contest
Birdhouse in Agricultural Theme
WHO MAY ENTER: Contest is open to all residents of Connecticut. Prizes
will be awarded in two divisions at each fair: Youth (up through age 15)
and Adult (age 16 and over).
Entries on Fairgrounds by noon, Saturday. LOCAL CONTEST: Exhibits may be entered at any
fair which is a member of the Litchfield County Council of Fairs.
Contestants may enter their exhibit in as many fairs as they wish until
they win first prize. First prize winners at each fair in both the Youth
and Adult Divisions will be awarded Blue Rosettes by the Litchfield
County Council of Fairs. The winner will then go on to represent that fair in the
county contest. Local winners must contact the Secretary of that fair
for information about dinner reservations, time and place of the fall
meeting.
COUNTY CONTEST: First prize winners from each
fair in each division will be eligible to enter their exhibit
in the County Contest to be held at the fall meeting of the Litchfield
County Council of Fairs, the last Wednesday of October. Entries
must be in place by 6:30 p.m. to be judged. Any contestant with
multiple entries in the County Contest will be eligible to receive
only one prize.
COUNTY PRIZES: Rosettes and cash prizes will
be awarded in each Division as follows:
$25.00 - First Place
$20.00 - Second Place
$15.00 - Third Place
$10.00 - Fourth Place
$5.00 - Fifth
Rosette - Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Places
CONTEST RULES: The entry must be a functional birdhouse with an agricultural theme. It should be constructured of at least 75% natural materials. The birdhouse must not be larger than 18 inches wide, 18 inches long, and 18 inches hight.
